3M™ Glass Fiber Tape 27 is a 0.178 mm woven insulating tape with a pressure-sensitive thermosetting rubber adhesive. The tape is designed for use in dry 600 volt applications that require high mechanical strength and resistance to high temperatures. The adhesive is specially developed and prepared for corrosion protection.
The Scotch® glass fiber fabric tape 27 can withstand a breakdown voltage of 3,000 volts and belongs to insulation class B with a temperature resistance of up to 130 °C. This makes it ideal for insulating electrical components that emit a lot of heat and as a protective winding against heat radiation. Like all glass fabric tapes, it is particularly tear and abrasion resistant. This ensures long-lasting functionality even under high mechanical stress, such as in electric motors. Due to its elasticity, the insulating tape coated with a thermosetting rubber adhesive adapts perfectly to different substrates. At the same time, the printable fabric structure ensures excellent absorption of resins and paints.
