WPB protective cover for cable connections
Product application
3M WPB is a multi-layer protective blanket that can be retrofitted to existing 11 kV connections. The attachment is made with pre-assembled Velcro straps and D-rings. The purpose of the product is to suppress a short circuit.

- Consisting of layers of high temperature PTFE, stainless steel and silicone elastomer.
- Easy fixing with integrated fixing straps, no need for cable ties or tools.
Performance tested
3M WPB was tested for a short circuit of 9 kiloamperes for 1.3 seconds at a voltage of 6.35 kV. The WPB suppressed the fault sufficiently to reduce damage to the surrounding area and minimize the risk of injury to people in the immediate vicinity.
